About Mother of God Community

We are a Catholic and ecumenical fellowship of believers who proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord and who share the life-transforming experience of the love of God the Father poured into one’s heart by the Holy Spirit. We are called together to grow in holiness, to love and support one another, and to give witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A fruit of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, we share in what Pope Francis has called a “current of grace” for the good of the whole Church.

As committed Christians, we have responded to a prompting of the Holy Spirit to share our faith journey together. Possessing a strong desire to follow Jesus and dedicated to living a Gospel way of life, we have joined together to support each other in our day-to-day lives through our witness, prayer and fellowship.  Through the Holy Spirit we experience a newness of life that helps us grow in our personal relationship with God, and experience inspiration in prayer and scripture as well as a greater joy, a sense of purpose and a desire to fellowship with others. We see the gifts of the Holy Spirit come alive to us!

Located in Gaithersburg, MD, we welcome people from all walks of life – families, couples, priests and deacons, singles, college students, and retired people. Our fellowship includes members, affiliates, and friends seeking intimacy with Jesus through the Holy Spirit, and sharing our lives for the good of one another and the good of the Church.

Our way of life includes participation in our local parishes as well as daily prayer and Scripture reading and participation in joyful weekly praise and worship gatherings, small faith-sharing groups, teaching and faith formation events, and community social activities.

Most community members are Catholic Christians that belong to St. John Neumann and surrounding parishes in the Archdiocese of Washington. Our membership in Mother of God Community complements our participation in parish liturgical and sacramental life or involvement in other Christian churches.

We invite you to learn more about Mother of God Community by attending one of our Sunday Praise and Worship meetings (see schedule), attending one of our Life in the Spirit courses or you may contact us at 301-990-2081 or at mogc@motherofgod.org.
